Ok, so maybe I am showing my age here, but that eighties “Sixteen Candles” reference pretty much says it all and then some!

The first day was the usual. Fast paced, lots of hellos and card swapping, socializing with old friends, meeting new people and of course “networking events”. Of course networking is code for – There will be a lot of alcohol and usually without time for food. Which was the case here as well. Unfortunately, to protect the guilty umm I mean innocent those happenings will be left as memories in our minds and not shared in the blogosphere. As we say in Las Vegas, “What Happens Here, Stays Here!”. It is our code.

10 Ways To Rank Without Links OR PageRank

Links.. Links… Links.. Links here and links there!

At PubCon this past year, InLinks was the newest link buying platform and though they received a strongly worded letter from Matt Cutts, my guess is that will stop few from giving inLinks a try. But I wonder sometimes, why all this focus on links when there are many things you can do to get a site to rank, straight out of the box without them. Now, I am not saying you can rank well and permanently if no one links to you. What I am saying is, with good on-site optimization, you can make it to the top ten without a single link and a PR of 0 and then you can follow that up with good white hat SEO and SEM and get there without all the fuss of chasing the link and the algo.

Now I know the first people to slam me will be those who say, “have you tried to rank for the PPC…

Facebook Redesign No Bueno! Oh Where Oh Where Did Your Little Site Go?

Facebook is a simple site, white background, not much clutter and pretty easy to get around. The ease of the design is part of its success, at least in my humble opinion. So when I started seeing articles about how negatively large groups of people were reacting to the redesign I was curious.
