When Do You Let ‘You’ Become A Brand?
My friend and colleague told me this year she decided to be just herself online. No more hiding or pretending and if someone does not like it well then that is ok too. I told her I admired the bravery of her hell be damned attitude as I am not sure I would feel comfortable doing the same.

Social Media – The Illusion of Connectedness?
I have been running so many thoughts through my mind since returning from SESNY. What to write about? I have been almost paralyzed in the depth and breadth of topic choices. Mostly because it seems that with the plethora of bloggers now, my voice would have been merely a repeat of everything out there. Unfortunately, or maybe selfishly, part of me feels that if I am going to take time to write a blog, I don’t want to just repeat what others have written, so what to write about? Then last week it hit me. The sudden evangelism surrounding all things social media. The idea that all is good and those who critique are somehow out of touch, or out of date and while some are, something struck me while reading my Facebook status posts and twitter tweets is social media truly social or does it just provide an illusion of connectedness? While it has many positives, what are its negatives? ….>

Live from SES NY – Day One Wrap
The Donger Need Food!
Ok, so maybe I am showing my age here, but that eighties “Sixteen Candles” reference pretty much says it all and then some!
The first day was the usual. Fast paced, lots of hellos and card swapping, socializing with old friends, meeting new people and of course “networking events”. Of course networking is code for – There will be a lot of alcohol and usually without time for food. Which was the case here as well. Unfortunately, to protect the guilty umm I mean innocent those happenings will be left as memories in our minds and not shared in the blogosphere. As we say in Las Vegas, “What Happens Here, Stays Here!”. It is our code.
